Beginners Beekeeping Virtual Series 2021
Caldwell County Beekeepers Association
This course is designed for beginners and is a great refresher for current beekeepers to enhance their general beekeeping skills. Our knowledgeable instructors will cover the history of beekeeping, getting started, seasonal management, and the treatment of pests and diseases. All sessions will be on Zoom, and recordings will be available to registered participants for a limited time after the course. Students will be paired with a mentor at the conclusion of the series.
When: Saturday, March 6 (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), Thursday, March 11 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) and Saturday, March 13 (9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) Optional Field Day TBA
Written Test for Certified Beekeeper TBA
Cost: $85 (Includes course materials, textbook [early registrants only] and one year membership to Caldwell County Beekeepers Association and North Carolina State Beekeepers Association)
Couples registration, $110 (Includes one set of materials, plus one year membership for two people to Caldwell County Beekeepers Association and North Carolina State Beekeepers Association)
An optional Field Day and testing for NCSBA Certified Beekeeper will be offered at a later date when Covid-related restrictions allow.

Textbooks will be mailed to participants who register by 2/26 – late registrants must purchase their own textbook, Beekeeping for Dummies 4th Edition by Howland Blackiston. Additional course materials will be emailed to registered participants.
