Stories of Resilience
VETERAN WORKSHOPS
Feb 3, 10, 24 | 9 AM – 10 AM

Location: Arts Center – Auditorium
Starting January 2026, veterans and their families are invited to join Stories of Resilience, a hands-on workshop series in storytelling, visual art, and photography. Participants will create their own hardcover Heroes of Service storybook, preserving personal histories in a meaningful way. This free series includes a printed storybook for every participant—don’t miss this chance to share and celebrate your story! 

 

Art Fun For Young Artists 
KIDS AGES 5-12
Beginning Feb 3 | Various Times

Location: Arts Center – Second Floor
Our Kids Mixed Media Art Classes offer playful, hands-on art experiences for children ages 5-7 and 8-12. Students will explore painting, collage, and drawing while building confidence, creativity, and fine motor skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Classes are led by instructor Beverly Mihelich and are perfect for all skills levels. Click here to register your young artist!

 

Creative Expression for Teens
TEENS AGES 13-18
Beginning Feb 3 | 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Location: Arts Center – Second Floor
Classes provide a fun, supportive space for students ages 13-18 to experiment with a variety of materials and techniques while developing their own creative voice. Through guided projects and open exploration, students  build skills, confidence, and artistic independence in a relaxed setting. ART RECEPTION

Celebrate love, creativity, and community at our February First Friday! This Valentine’s-themed collective exhibition features work by The Red Awning Gallery artists, showcasing a diverse mix of styles and perspectives inspired by connection, passion, and expression. Meet the artists, explore the gallery, and enjoy an evening of art, conversation, and light refreshments. Free and open to all—join us for a heart-filled night of art and community!

 

Threads of Creativity 
BEGINNING WEAVING
Begins Feb 10 | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Arts Center – Fiber Art Center
Discover the art of weaving in this  8-week beginner-friendly class with instructor Patty Palmer. Learn essential techniques such as loom setup, basic weaving structures, yarn selection, and finishing methods while creating several small woven projects. All materials are provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity! Spots are limited—join us and start your weaving journey!

 

Painting Flowers
WATERCOLOR CLASS

Location: Arts Center—Palette Studio
Build confidence & bring flowers to life in this 3-hour, hands-on watercolor workshop led by renowned artist Zan Thompson. Artists of all skills levels will explore techniques for shaping petals, blending color, and using light and shadow to create vibrant, expressive floral compositions. Reserve your spot and grow your watercolor skills!

 

Valentine’s Day Experience

Sing, Play, and Win!

Intro to Watercolor Basics

Unplug, relax, and explore your creativity at CAFE, a guided art experience for adults (18+). Beginner-friendly and fully supplied, each session is just $5. Come as you are, make something meaningful, and enjoy a mindful moment of artistic expression. Treat yourself to a creative moment.

 

Art Takes the Runway
SPECIAL EVENT
Mar 6 | Starts at 6:00 pm

Location: Arts Center—Auditorium 
Join the Western North Carolina Society of Artisans for Art Takes the Runway, a unique evening showcasing works by Red Awning Gallery members. Enjoy live music by Paddyak featuring Patrick and Kay Crouch, and let Master of Ceremonies Keith Smith guide you through a night of creativity and celebration. The Red Awning Gallery will be open before and after the event, with light refreshments provided and drinks available for purchase from 3 Drinks Down. Join us for an evening where art meets fashion.

 

 

Spring Dinner Theatre: Inherit the Wind

Join us at The HUB Station Arts Center for a night of drama, dinner, and community as the Town of Hudson’s Spring Dinner Theatre presents Inherit the Wind. Enjoy a traditional Southern meal from Dan’l Boone Inn before settling in for this compelling courtroom drama inspired by the historic Scopes “Monkey Trail.”

Set in a small Southern town, the play explores freedom of thought, conviction, and courage as a high-profile trail challenges deeply held beliefs. Drinks available from 3 Drinks Down Beverage Co., and tables seat up to eight—perfect for friends and family!
