Sandra Powell Searson of Valdese was charged with driving while impaired, driving left of the center and reckless driving on Friday evening according to the Morganton News Herald. Searson was charged after a head on collision on US 70 in Drexel. Before the accident she was seen by witnesses to crossing the center line and crossing back to the edge of the road. Searson was transported to the hospital by Burke County EMS while the occupants of the other vehicle involved drove themselves to the hospital.
