The unemployment rate in the Hickory Metro area fell in September. The rate for Catawba and Burke counties is at 3.5% while Caldwell is at 3.7% all of those rates were over 4%. The Greater Hickory Metro area rate is 3.5% while the state of North Carolina’s unemployment rate sits at 3.8%.
