A fatal crash claimed 2 lives in Hickory. 30 year old Phillip Patrick Hudson the driver, and 31 year old Alexander Ezekiel Wozmick both died at the scene. The NC Highway Patrol is investigating. The single vehicle wreck occurred on Old Shelby Rd near I-40, when the vehicle struck a tree. Speeding and reckless driving are believed to be a factor.
