RALEIGH – The state has four reported cases of West Nile Virus this year, twice the average amount. Due to the increase the state of North Carolina issued a press release encouraging people to take precautions to prevent the spread of West Nile Virus among the recommendations on the release include: use insect repellents, prevent mosquitos from entering the residence by mending holes in screens and keeping door closed and don’t leave standing water in containers.
