HEAD-ON COLLISION RESULTS IN A FATALITY

MORGANTON – A head on collision resulted in a fatal accident and sent four people to the hospital.  
Forty-two-year-old Jennifer Nicole Rector of Connelly Springs suffered fatal injuries after a 2016 Dodge Ram, reportedly being driven by sixty-nine-year-old Angelo Messineo of Hudson, crossed the centerline and crashed into a 2017 Nissan Rogue being driven by Rector.
The accident occurred Thursday, September 29 along Miller Bridge Road near Shoupes Grove Church Road at approximately 3:55 p.m.
The three other passengers of the Nissan, ages 45, 13, and 10, were transported to area hospitals. Messineo sustained minor injuries and was also transported to a local hospital.
Thirty-nine-year-old Jeremy Stewart of Hickory, who was traveling behind the Nissan, attempted to dodge the accident, went off the road and struck a tree.  According to the press release, Stewart was not injured.  
Messineo has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, according to the press release from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
