CONOVER – The body of a man found buried at a residence in Conover last month has been identified.
Fifty-four-year-old Richard Lee Morris was reported missing to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office on August 26, 2021. A tip led investigators to the residence located at the 300 block of 4th Ave SW where an unidentified body was unearthed September 16. An autopsy and review of medical records confirmed Morris’ identity.
The cause of death has not yet been determined. The investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
