Residents of Hickory, NC are being reminded that leaf pickup has been adjusted due to earlier than expected leaf fall and challenging staffing conditions, as well as inclement weather. The City of Hickory offers year-round collection of leaves and yard waste, as long as they are in reusable yard waste bags, clear plastic bags, or 32-gallon open containers marked as “Yard Waste”. Collection of these materials will be done on the resident’s regular garbage collection day. In an effort to make leaf season easier, the City of Hickory’s Public Services Complex is offering free clear plastic bags to Hickory citizens. Each person is allowed one roll of clear plastic bags per visit. For those with questions about garbage, recycling, yard waste, or leaf collection in the City of Hickory, they can call 828-323-7500.
