Two Catawba County elementary schools, Banoak and Sherrills Ford, recently celebrated their 100th anniversaries with events involving current families, alumni, and local dignitaries. At Banoak Elementary, a newly renovated facility was showcased, and former student and principal Joe Biggerstaff shared nostalgic memories. Meanwhile, Sherrills Ford Elementary had student-led tours highlighting improvements and the Spanish Immersion program. The strong community support for both schools is evident with Sherrills Ford’s “Make It Happen” campaign raising over $80,000.
