A traffic stop last week led to a drug bust by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Group. Officers stopped a vehicle on NC 16 Friday near the Catawba-Lincoln County line and seized 96 grams of methamphetamine, 2.99 grams of crack cocaine, 8 dosage units of Ecstasy, 5 grams of MDMA and three (one ounce) vials of GHB.
The driver, 40-year-old Jason Glenn Armstrong, was arrested and faces several drug charges as well as a resisting a pu
blic officer charge. Armstrong, a Burke County resident, received a $100,000 secured bond and was scheduled for a first appearance in Catawba County District Court Monday.
