The North Carolina State Highway Patrol has reported a fatal collision in Catawba County on Zion Church Road near Butner Drive early Wednesday morning. A motorcycle was traveling north on Zion Church Road and drove off the right side of the road.
The driver, 41-year-old Andrew Lee Cole of Connelly Springs, was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The initial investigation indicates excessive speed as contributing to the accident.
