The City of Morganton Main Street office reported some positive news this week on economic trends from the last 12 months. In the 2022-23 fiscal year there were more than $7.4 million made in private investments, including property acquisitions and sales, private improvements and new construction. Business development saw a net gain of three businesses and 19 jobs, along with 12 façade improvements and six different building rehabilitations completed. Main Street also reported a 66 percent increase in volunteer hours for events.
