CCC&TI to offer upcoming Regional Truck Driver Training Courses

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute is now registering for several upcoming Truck Driver Training courses in Western North Carolina. CCC&TI’s Truck Driver Training program prepares individuals to drive tractor-trailer rigs. Students enrolled in the program will learn proper driving procedures, safe driving responsibilities, commercial motor vehicle laws and regulations, and the basic principles and practices for operating commercial vehicles. Upon successful completion, students are qualified to take the Commercial Driver’s License exam and are employable by commercial trucking firms. They may also become owner-operators and work as private contract haulers. Prospective students must attend a mandatory orientation session to formally enroll in the program. Tuition for the program is $2,005. Financial assistance may be available for those that qualify.

Following is a schedule of upcoming courses with locations, course meeting dates and dates for the required orientation sessions:

Truck Driver Training (CDL Class A) – CCC&TI TAPS Center, Hudson

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Truck Driver Training course from May 26 to July 29 at the Transportation and Public Safety Center in Hudson. Orientation is required for prospective students and will be held on April 27 at 10 a.m. in Room 115 of the Truck Driver Training facility located at CCC&TI’s TAPS Center, 3030 Hickory Blvd. in Hudson.

Truck Driver Training (CDL Class A) – Wilkes Community College

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Truck Driver Training course from May 26 to July 29 on the Wilkes Community College campus. Orientation is required for prospective students and will be held on April 30 at 10 a.m. at Kendrick/Church Hall in room 1507 in Wilkesboro.

Truck Driver Training (CDL Class A) – Mayland Community College

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Truck Driver Training course from May 27 to July 30 on the Mayland Community College campus. Orientation is required for prospective students and will be held on May 4 at 10 a.m. at the Avery Learning Center, room 122 located in Newland.
