Catawba County Law Enforcement participate in the Torch Run for Special Olympics

(HICKORY) – The Hickory Police Department will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on Friday, May 8, 2026!
The run will begin at HPD’s headquarters starting at 9 a.m. Officers will make their way east on2nd Avenue SW, through Downtown Hickory and then return to the police department.
The Hickory community is invited to join us at either of the two stopping points to meet the runners and take photos with them. The first stop will be at Hickory City Hall, 76 North Center Street, and the second will be between the Sails on the Square.

Law Enforcement from Conover Police Department, Newton Police Department, Maiden Police Department, Long View Police Department and the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office will be joining Hickory Police Officers for the run.
