UNC Healthcare Blue Ridge is expanding in Morganton. A groundbreaking was held on Tuesday for a new six-story 220,500 square foot building. The cost is $118 million. The new facility will house the expanded emergency department with 30 critical care beds and a rooftop helipad. UNC Health is expanding system wide with a $156 million price tag, which includes a cancer center in Valdese.
