The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division busts drug dealers during a traffic stop

A traffic stop by Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division on Saturday, March 4th led to the seizure of drugs, firearms, and drug paraphernalia. The deputies stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Hwy 127 South and Zion Church Rd, for displaying a lost or stolen license plate. During a search, they found 11 grams of fentanyl, 121 grams of marijuana, two firearms, digital scales, and some US currency. The driver, Jaterrian K’Tryus Jenkins, a 22-year-old Hickory resident, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Opium, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Meanwhile, a passenger, Christian Dior Sifford, a convicted felon, was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by Felon, along with two outstanding Orders for Arrest. Sifford, a 29-year-old Hickory resident, received secured bonds of $5,000 and $500 for the firearms charge and the Orders for Arrest, respectively. Both had their first court appearance on March 6th in Catawba County District Court.
